20 Valentine’s Day Affirmations to Increase Feelings of Self-Love
We’re counting down the days until the annual day of ‘LOVE’, and recently some conversations regarding Valentine’s Day have peaked my interest.
This holiday is one of the few that tends to split people on one end of the spectrum or the other- meaning they are either all for it, or completely against it.
And while I have thoughts on both of these stances- my ultimate belief comes down to this:
Love should be celebrated every day, yes. But a day dedicated to love isn’t a bad thing either.
Hear me out babe…
Love is the wildest and most pure energy on this earth.
& the more we have of it, the better, right? Right.
Now, of course we’d like to think that the whole year should be dedicated to celebrating love- and it most certainly can be! We have the opportunity to be showing both our partners and most importantly, ourselves, love on a daily basis.
However, life does happen. And sometimes we get distracted or forgetful. And sometimes, we forget to celebrate love every day. This is okay. It happens sometimes.
Thus, a day dedicated to reminding us to do exactly this can be a really great thing.
Plus, there is a national day for everything- including eating tacos or being naked. Just like these ‘celebration’ days don’t mean that you can only enjoy tacos and rocking your birthday suit on one day- Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean anything about showing love the rest of the year.
Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be feared or hated. Instead, we should embrace the original meaning this day was intended to have (celebrating love) rather than what companies have marketed it to be.
This goes for those who find them in a relationship, but also especially as important, those who don’t. Not having a partner is no reason or excuse to ignore love– because YOU deserve love. You are WORTHY of love. And you need to love yourself fully, unconditionally and deeply, before you can expect anyone else too.
Therefore, below are 20 amazing affirmations for this Valentine’s Day (from Self Pause), for you to repeat to yourself, so that you can increase your own feelings of self-love, self-esteem and confidence.
Get ready to step into that loving energy, and love yourself fully.
Repeat these on a daily basis leading up too (and even after) Valentine’s Day:
I am full of love.
I value myself.
I believe in my abilities.
I can achieve everything I desire.
Every day I become a better version of myself.
I am grateful for how far I’ve come and all I’ve been through.
I let go of my insecurities.
I am resilient and brave.
I am kind and loving to myself and others.
I deserve to feel good about myself.
My mood does not depend on other peoples’ opinions.
I embrace my flaws and imperfections.
I love who I am.
I let go of people and situations that don’t make me happy.
Every day I see everything new.
My peace and happiness are important.
I celebrate every win in my life and have so much to be grateful for.
I am loved for who I am.
I have the right to feel confident.
I accept myself exactly as I am.
