One of my favorite treats is a chai tea latte.
There is just something about a warm cup of this spicy goodness that can completely transform your day!
And while I love a good café version, the sugar content is definitely something that I am aware of. So, I decided to start making my own at home. Same delicious spice, but a whole heck of a lot less sugar.
Read on below for a healthier version of a chai tea latte that you can make from the comfort of your own home, and enjoy every day guilt free!
INGREDIENTS
- 1-2 tsp chai tea spice mix
- 2 cups non-dairy milk of your choice
- 2 bags black tea (I used chai tea bags)
- maple syrup to taste
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1: Bring milk and tea bags to a boil on stove top, watching closely (as it can boil over easily). Then turn the heat off and let it steep for a couple of minutes.
STEP 2: Remove tea bags, and whisk in chai spice mix and maple syrup. The amount of each is up to you, depending on how spicy or how sweet you like yours. I chose to do 2 tsp of spice and 2 tbsp maple syrup.
Enjoy babes!
With love,
Brianne xx
